About us
25 years researching permaculture, now on your land
Permasesor is the regenerative land design practice of Seth Andrew Thompson, its CEO: physicist by training, certified permaculturist and the grower behind the demonstration food forest at Bosque Humano in Coín, 30 km from Marbella and from Málaga.

Our story
I live in a human food forest system
Twenty years ago there were no professional permaculture services to hire, so I spent those years preparing the knowledge and tools to offer them. Sixteen of them have gone into Bosque Humano in Coín, which now works across 20,000 m², part of it neighbouring land that shares the project’s aims. For the community side of the work, visit Bosque Humano’s own site.

What is permaculture?
A way of designing land that works like a healthy ecosystem
Permaculture is a design method. It starts by watching how water, sun, wind and soil behave on your land, then places water systems, trees, plants and buildings so that each one supports the others. Three ethics guide every decision: care of the earth, care of people, and a fair share of the surplus.
How we work
Four principles behind every design
01
Water
Water first
In a dry climate water decides everything else. We map how rain moves across your land and design how to catch, slow and store it before we place a single tree.
02
Method
Order of permanence
We plan in the order that is hardest to change later: water, then access, trees, structures and soil. Decisions that last decades are settled before those that last a season.
03
Build
We direct what we design
The person who draws your plan directs the earthworks, water and planting, so nothing gets lost between the drawing and the ground.
04
Use
Human use and metabolism
The value we create lasts because the way people live on and use the land is designed into the same system.
Team
Who will design your land
Permasesor is Seth Andrew Thompson’s practice. The person who reads your land is the person who directs the build.
Founder
Seth Andrew Thompson

Physics degree (2006)
Certified permaculturist (PDC, 2012)
25 years of self-study
Seth is a physicist by training and a permaculture designer by practice, and it shows in how he reads land: water flows, slopes, soil structure and microclimates first, planting second.
He has researched permaculture for more than 25 years, 16 of them on his own permaculture project, Bosque Humano, where the full design went in in 2022. He has planted 30,000 trees personally, and his goal is a million.
He studied physics at Bridgewater State University (2006) and took his Permaculture Design Certificate with Steve Charter in 2012. He is CEO of Permasesor and a co-founder of Bosque Humano, La Loma Bosque, the Estudio de Permacultura Málaga and the Red de Permacultura Málaga.
His specialism is plants: human–plant symbiosis and human food forest systems. He defines a human-plant symbiont as “a plant species which has a direct metabolic connection available to our species”.
